The Touch of a Master's hand
The tiny sapling of Veda Vyasa D.A.V Public School was planted on 7th February 1982 with 400 leaves on its delicate branch. The tender plant under the supervision of luminaries of D.A.V Management, nourished by the incessant efforts of the dynamic Principal Ms. Chitra Nakra and her team of devoted teachers is now a resplendent tree.
Mrs. Chitra Nakra, the founder Principal of Veda Vyasa D.A.V Public School, Vikas Puri undertook the uphill task of raising the school to its present status in the year 1982 an exemplary temple of learning. Her aim is to nurture holistic learners and to nestle progressive thoughts with the intricacies of moral values. In connection with the educational & cultural exchange programme Mrs. Nakra travelled to different parts of the world ", and has tuned the school with globally best available education system.
Her compassion for the downtrodden and underprivileged has inspired the school to take up projects related to Adult Education Literacy mission, Environmental A wareness , Child Labour Care for Aged and many more. Under her dynamic leadership the school opened Aakanksha - a center for the children with Special Needs.She is the member of Curriculum Committee, Executive body, Working Committee, Advisory Committee of D .A. V. College Managing Committee. She is also the coordinator (west) for EFA under Directorate of Education & a resource person for various seminars & workshops organized by Directorate of Education, Inservice Training Programme. and Central Board of Secondary Education.
